A deposit (part-payment) will be required before a portrait is completed. This is to cover the cost of materials and supplies purchased in advance. It also secures the client's commission booking date. The client will be required to provide photos of their pet/s by a date and time specified by the artist. Failure to provide photos by the set date will result in the loss of the client's deposit and secure booking slot.

This deposit is non-refundable. The remaining cost will be charged upon completion of a commission. The artist will confirm international shipping costs with the client on an individual basis.

Important Info

Caring For The Artwork

After receiving your pet portrait it is important to know how to care for it.

1. It is very important that the artwork does not get wet as this will ruin the piece.

2. Pastels smudge easily so it is a good idea to cover the portrait with glassine if it is being removed from the frame.

3. Try to keep the artwork out of direct sunlight and away from hot objects (i.e. radiators) as heat may discolour the artwork.

I always use high quality and lightfast materials so that the artwork will look its best for a long, long time.

Tips For Taking High Quality Pictures

When sending pictures it is important that they are clear and good quality, that way I will be able to produce a clear and good quality pet portrait.

1. Try to take pictures at your pet's height so that your pet is looking at the camera; or from below your pet so that you're looking up at the pet. If you take the picture looking down at your pet, it may look good in a photo, but it may not have the same effect in the final portrait.

2. Try to get the main features of your pet in the picture such as their eyes and the muzzle area, that way I will be able to see the expression on your pet's face and be able to feature that in the drawing.

3. If you are able, try to get a picture in daylight or outside, but try not to take it in direct sunlight as the picture may come out too bright.

Commissioned pet portraits will be displayed in the artist's online gallery and on the artist's social media platforms if the client agrees.

If you have any questions please let me know and I'll be happy to help.
